For those of you who visit as non divers there is plenty to enjoy for all ages. L`Escala has much to offer the “dive widow or widower” or a diver taking some time out to relax.

Find below a less than exhaustive list of what is on offer in addition to exploring the historic town and people-watching from the alfresco cafes or lazing on one of L’Escala’s many clean, sandy beaches and taking a refreshing dip in the clear, warm Mediterranean.

Horse & Pony Riding

All ages and experience levels are catered for with short rides or longer treks. Country or beach routes can be enjoyed.

Walking, Rambling, Trekking, Climbing & Cycling

There are many beautiful areas to visit both locally and across both the French and Spanish Pyrenees. Also, about 50km northwest of Barcelona, Montserrat is renown as a site of great natural beauty and an enjoyable and easy climb. There are numerous outlets for cycle hire locally in L`Escala at reasonable prices.

Golf:

Within 45 minutes from L`Escala you can enjoy a round or two at no less than eight first class courses. Transport to and from any golf course of your choosing is available as required. City Excursions:

We can arrange visits to enjoy the culture and sights of either Barcelona, Girona or Figueres at most reasonable costs. Normally at least 48hrs notice is required prior to a city outing to ensure that the transport is available.

Local Excursions:

L`Escala is situated on the Bay of Roses and there are many sites of interest and natural beauty to visit. Should any take your fancy and you need transportation then contact as above.

Nearby, at Empurias, is the most important archaeological site in Spain dating from the early Greek and Roman eras. This is within a 30mins walk of your accommodation.

At the Museo de Sal you can learn all about the traditional fishing industry that made L’Escala famous for its anchovies.

Skydiving & Flying

For the adventurous there can be found some thrills at Empurias Brava, about 30mins from l`Escala. There you will find a large, well equipped and most professionally operated parachute centre.

Just outside L’Escala there’s a microlight aircraft centre where you’ll find pleasure flights along the coast.
